Our car parking for the Sunshine Coast Caravanning and Outdoor Expo brought to an end a busy period of fund raising at Nambour Showgrounds  over the last few months. We still have our charity golf day at Nambour Golf Club on Monday October 7th to round out the year.

During these events we often get asked where we spend the funds we raise. The majority is directed to local Nambour causes and in the last year we have supported Anglicare Nambour, Burnside SHS chaplaincy, the Salvation Army's Just Brass program, the GPAI Special Olympics at Nambour Golf Club, Sunny Kids and The Shack Community Centre - all Nambour based events. We also donated to the Channel 9 drought relief appeal and supported many projects of Rotary International both within Australia and overseas.

We are always on the lookout for new causes to support and we would welcome interest from local groups in need of funds.

To raise this money we need boots on the ground. Our members are always involved and we have a very loyal group of friends who we can depend on but what we really need are new members. Rotary is a fun and meaningful way for people to build their social and professional networks while improving the community.  The operating model for
Rotary has changed significantly in recent years. Because we understand that everyone lives such busy lives, we’ve become much more flexible and inclusive in the way we run our club. We welcome men and women of all ages and from all walks of life and the cost of membership has been reduced . Also, there’s no longer any obligation to attend weekly meetings. That being said, we do find that the majority of our members are committed to coming every week because they enjoy the camaraderie and love hearing our invited guest speakers.

Anyone interested is invited to attend any of our weekly meetings at Nambour Golf Club on Wednesdays at 6 pm Check www.nambour76rotary.org for details.
