The Rotary Club of Nambour 76 has sponsored two scholarships for students starting study at Sunshine Coast University in 2020. Each scholarship will be for a maximum of 4 years at $5000 per year and they will provide a supplement to the students' income to help with living expenses while studying. The students will be selected by the university with the only prerequisite that they be from the Nambour area and have graduated from high school within the last two years.

One scholarship will be named the Bob Sellars - Rotary Club of Nambour76 Scholarship in memory of Bob, a long time member of our club and resident of Nambour. Bob spent all his working life as an employee of the Commonwealth Bank and after many moves around Queensland and New South Wales a transfer to Nambour as the manager of the local bank saw him settling in Mapleton. He was a long serving member of many Rotary Clubs the most recent being the Rotary Club of Nambour 76 where he served on the board in various roles. He was ably assisted by his very supportive wife Lex. Bob was a great proponent of higher education and he would be delighted to see his interest being extended through this scholarship. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2019.

The other scholarship is the Errol Gibbins - Rotary Club of Nambour 76 scholarship. Errol was a businessman in Forest Glen in the mid 1900's, running Forest Glen Poultry for many years. His son, Steve is a former member of The Rotary Club of Nambour 76 and has always been a generous donor to club causes.

The families of Bob Sellars and Errol Gibbins have both contributed financially to the scholarships as has Downing & Lindner Accountants and The Rotary Club of Nambour 76.
