This week is a partner's night (let Helen know numbers please) for the second in the series presented by the Heart Foundation.
After a false start last week we will have a new president taking the chair. Gerald officially takes over as president for the next 3 months.
Our busy period coming up kicks in this week with the next Bunning's BBQ on Monday of next week and the roster for that is looking good.
Sausage cutting will be Sunday 2pm at our house.
The next event will be the Caravan, Camping, Fishing & 4x4 expo helping Nambour in the food stall. There are some names in the blue book for this but we may need a few more.
The night out to see "Senior Moments" is still a month away but the time has come to pay up as we have received an invoice from the events centre at Caloundra. This means that we have to have our numbers confirmed this week so come prepared to let Helen know on Wednesday whether or not you are coming. Cost is $55 per head.
Our week of RYDA events in May is fast approaching. Nambour 76 will be primarily responsible for the Nambour State College day which is Thursday 10th. Ideally we need 8 people.
And there is a new event on the horizon - see below:-
To: Rotary Nambour 76 Club
Attention: Mr Alex Blake
Subject: Inaugural GPAI Rock & Roll Charity Ball / Volunteer Request
Morning Alex,
As previously discussed, I am asking if it would be possible to engage the Rotary Nambour 76 Club volunteers for a large fundraising event for GPAI on Saturday, 6th July 2019.
Funds raised from the event will go towards securing a people mover for the GPAI golf program for individuals living with an intellectual disability.
The event will be advertised as ‘The Inaugural GPAI Rock & Roll Ball’ and be hosted at the Nambour State College ‘Hungerford Hall’ and begin at 6:30 pm and wrap up at 11:30 pm. Bump In at 5:30 & Bump out At 12 Midnight
Tickets will be available via eventbrite and for purchase instore at GPAI Creative 89 Currie Street Nambour. Single Tickets $50 / Couple Tickets $90
The Inaugural GPAI Rock & Roll Ball will be catering for up to 300 people and the Hungerford Hall has a capacity to accommodate 500 comfortably.
Food and refreshments will be available and if anyone with a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate would be very helpful. Beer , wine and soft drinks.
The night will include 2 local 1950’s Rock & Roll bands and professional Rock & Roll Dancers that will deliver an exhibition and clinics for participants.
Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed 1950’s couple and best 1950’s dance couple.
Additionally, we are seeking local sponsors for this great inaugural event which we envisage will be a wonderful addition to the Nambour Community Calendar so any suggestions would be gratefully received. Major sponsors will be included on all promotional collateral and event tickets.
Kind Regards
Darrell Dalton
