Our guests last week were Joanne Scott and Greg Brady from the University of Sunshine Coast. The visit came about out of interest by our club and Downing and Lindner about providing a scholarship for worthy students. Joanne told us some interesting stories about the University and some students who have benefited from scholarships. She didn't go into the mechanisms of how a scholarship works but I guess that will come in time.
The car parking for the Flametree Baptist Carols by Candlight at the show grounds on Friday went off well with a good roster of helpers. The gold coin donations collected amounted to "$831.55 plus a NZ $2 coin, an Aussie 1 cent coin and an Aldi shopping trolley token". Thanks everyone for your help.
President Graham will be away this week so we will have a mystery acting president.
Our meeting on the 11th December will be a special event when we will host inbound and outbound youth exchange students who will be travelling through the Sunshine Coast on their safari. The meeting will start a little earlier at 6 pm.
We will not have any meetings on December 25th and January 1st and 8th but there is a Bunnings BBQ on January 2nd which will count as a meeting. Our last meeting for the year will be on December 18th for our Christmas breakup. That will be at the Golf Club and Michael will prepare a special Christmas meal for us. Cost will remain at the normal $25 and, of course, partners are welcome. We will be inviting friends who have volunteered for us during the year to be our guest for that night.
Our half of the cost for the painting of the Nambour Museum has been paid and work should commence soon.
Recently Graham and Ross attended the opening of the new Multiple Sclerosis facility. Bob and Lynne Smyth shared the photo.
