I sent an email last week asking for help for a suasage sizzle this Friday at Suncoast Christion College to aid Annaleese's fundraising to attend NYSF. Please let me know yes or no ASAP whether or not you can help.

Not content with two successive H & T wins, Jacko had to top it off with a hole in one on the 14th. Well done Ross. When can we expect the Powerball win?

The rest of this bulletin is all about board and AGM minutes.
The AGM for 2020 will be held next week (28th October)

Minutes of  AGM of Office Bearers of Rotary Club Nambour 76

Held at Golf Club Nambour on Wednesday 4th September 2019

Attendance: The evening was well attended and the record of those in attendance as per the attendance book.  The meeting was chaired by president Ross Jackson.

Minutes: The minutes of the last Annual General Meeting had previously been circularised to all members.  On the motion of Alex Blake seconded by Bill Turner it was agreed that the minutes were a true and correct record of the last Annual General Meeting.

Treasurer’s report The treasurer’s report for the financial year ended 30th June 2019 had previously been circularised by Bruce.  The report had been audited by Levert, moved on the motion of Bruce seconded by Bernie Bruton that the treasurer’s report be adopted and that Levert be again engaged as auditors for the current year.

Board Positions It was moved on the motion of president Ross seconded by Paul Frahm that the positions as enacted be maintained.

General Business There was no general business discussed and the meeting closed properly at 7:15pm.

Minutes of  Meeting of Office Bearers of Rotary Club Nambour 76

Held at Car Club Nambour on Wednesday 9th September

Present: Paul Frahm, Alex Blake, Bill Turner, Ross Jackson, Bruce Lawton, Bernie Bruton, Helen Turner and Gordon Downing

Apologies: Graham Robertson

Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting had been circularised on the motion of Alex Blake and seconded by Ross Jackson and it was agreed that the minutes were a true and correct record of that meeting.

Treasurer’s Report It was confirmed that Bruce had circularised the full report to all members. He reported that District dues totalling $1,249.60 were due for payment.

He sought approval to transfer $1,100 into the account to cover this payment. It was moved by Bruce and seconded by Bill that the dues and other bills be paid and that the transfer be approved.

Bruce indicated that he would put future reports on the net for members to read and would provide an abbreviated summary of our financial position. Bruce was thanked for his foresight and work.

Ironman Assistance The president reported that we were down to 3 members with longer shifts. We are to be based at the Loo With a View. He indicated that we would probably raise some more much needed club funds.

Meeting with Steps This meeting had been postponed by Steps due to the intrusion of COVID.

Rydah Bill had the run around with Lee from the Council. Rydah is scheduled for October 5th with 3 days more in November. Maroochydore High School have cancelled but all other schools were still to attend.

Bill had been in touch with the Health Department and had worked out a presentable and workable COVID Safe Plan. All volunteers must tick off on a checklist for COVID. This time we need 13 volunteers rather than 6 or 8 just to cope with the extra COVID things. Bill was going to persist and try and get Lee from the council to see sense.

For the first time from the memory of those in attendance at the meeting we saw the cranky side of Bill. He is very frustrated by the Council.

Meeting Wednesday

30th The Nambour Club had agreed to meet in a joint meeting on Wednesday 30th. The meeting is to be at the brewery. It will be just a dinner for a combined meeting. The Blue Book was going to be circularised to get the numbers and the Secretary is to advise Michael.

M.Y.S.F Bill reported that Annaleese Kastrissios-Stewart had been successful. Her mother had been in touch with Bill. Her and her mother will come to a meeting soon. We are financially committed to support this successful candidate. Historically we pay 50% of the costs. The cost to us is likely to be $1,500.

We are not committed financially to the Nambour candidate and we have not paid any funds towards the Nambour candidate’s engagement.

Wishlist Alex reported that we are committed to this cause for 100 nights’ accommodation to be provided. He reported that he previously brought this to an earlier meeting and received acceptance. None of those present seem to remember that previous discussion.

D.I.K. Email seeking help had been circularised to all club members. There were no takers from the Board Meeting and no one from the Club had volunteered.

Polio Plus There is to be a great train ride to raise funds. It is scheduled for 23 October. It is coming from Gympie to Nambour and it will go through to (probably) the Glasshouse Mountains. There is an opportunity for club members to get on the train at Gympie and get off at Nambour. Those present thought that the exercise was just too difficult for most members.

Closure The meeting closed at 5:41pm.

Minutes of  Meeting of Office Bearers of Rotary Club Nambour 76

Held at Car Club Nambour on Wednesday 14th October

Present: Alex Blake, Bill Turner, Ross Jackson, Bruce Lawton, Bernie Bruton, Helen Turner and Gordon Downing

Apologies: Graham Robertson Paul Frahm

Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting have been distributed on the motion of Alex Blake and seconded by Ross Jackson and it was agreed that the minutes were a true and correct record of that meeting.

Treasurer’s Report It was confirmed that Bruce had distributed the full report to all members , our financial situation is quite healthy

General Business: The quote for the painting of the telegraphy room at the Museum is $1200, originally some members thought that it would be about $500 but it was agreed to pay the full cost. Nambour Rotary is paying for the floor sanding ( roughly the same cost as the painting). We all agreed that we have to do out bit to keep the places like the museum up and running.

Discussion re young Jack Watson and his ongoing attendance. Helen suggested that the club sponsor him for 1 meeting per month and if he wishes to attend on a more frequent basis he will have to bear the cost of the meal himself.

Alex is going to contact the Burnside SRC and talk to them about involvement with 76 through Jack.

Bernie to contact the Yandina Hall committee to see about a guest speaker , they are asking for donations towards the cost of repairs to the hall and the club needs to know the extent of repairs before we commit any money.

The meeting closed at 5.35pm
